Yet it is a well scrubbed and respectable establishment that Lord Devereaux always visits on his way through back from business on the mainland.

![[ ]](http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i269/Partene/replace.jpg) | Sacred Hill Church Sacred Hill church was built in 1445, and is very old, but thanks to acts of charity and patronage from the Devereaux family, it has been full restored. Made of gray stone with a flint and slate roof, the stained glass windows stand out almost garishly, their colours bright and inviting. The church is always packed on a sunday, and also at weddings and funerals and christenings. It is often the most sociable place in the village.

Underit the building is much more interesting with large windows which allow window-shopping. One can see some of the latest designs of Cecillia Ainsley. Inside, it is heaven for the ladies. Numerous materials and colours take up one wall, there are also already finished gowns with smaller accessories. Behind the counter a door leads to the back room which is the working room where Anastasia, Cecillia and their helpers work on their masterpieces.
